Collection: Our Animal Thoughts

Nine years ago, this series of animal paintings emerged, almost out of nowhere. A need to find roots, simple, real things, without artifice—an urge for a connection to Nature, to my primal animality, surely.

Beyond the attitudes, bodies, manes, and furs, these animals asserted themselves through their gazes. Emotions were born from these looks. A dialogue then began between us. We tamed each other. I made them faithful travel companions, confidants to whom I gradually gave first names. I shared with Adam, Georges, Salvador, Joseph, or Jade my most intimate thoughts: my melancholy, my joys, my loves, my thirst for freedom.

I speak to them as a friend, from my soul to their soul, and I invite you here to come and talk, to be silent, to laugh, to contemplate. Here in my refuge workshop.
